Wow! It has been way too long since my last posts. I must admit I have been dragging lately. I am still soaping, and pretty busy with the kids, but kind of dragging when it comes to my blog. I will try to do much better.
I did want to give you an update on where I left off with coloring soap with natural colorants. I was able to give you a sample of how my Indigo Blue Soap turned out but I never shared how the Paprika and Alkanet Root turned out. Here are the results.
PAPRIKA POWDER OIL INFUSED SOAP
Just like the Indigo Blue I use at 50% Olive Oil and 50% Infused Olive Oil mixture. I was very happy with how the Paprika Oil Infused Powder soap turned out. I ended up using a Sandalwood Fragrance Oil to go with this soap and I think it went really well with the color.
It is a nice carrot color. It is very pretty.
The next soap I tried was the Alkanet Root Infused Powder. This one I think I should have gone a little less of the infused oils. It turned a very deep purple. A lot more than I was going for.
ALKANET ROOT OIL INFUSED SOAP
I was also a little disappointed that this soap started to gel on me. As you can see the dark circle on the side.
I am hoping to bring a couple of more posts before the end of the year. I am currently working on a new challenge that I am taking on this year. Primarily to use as a talking piece at some of the upcoming craft shows that I have scheduled. A Gingerbread Soap House 🙂
Here is a preliminary pic! Wish me luck!
Thanks for checking out my blog!
