It has been pretty hot around here lately and all I can think of is having a nice cold drink 🙂
I was taking inventory of my fragrances the other day and in that wave length I notice my bottle of “Mojito” fragrance. That was sounding pretty good…and with that inspiration I got to work on my “Mojito Soap”!
I have been working with embeds a lot lately. It takes a little more work with planning and set up but the end results are pretty worth it. I struggled with MP soaping, and just making small individual embeds to use is good enough for me. Plus it gives me a chance to use that 20 lbs of MP base that I thought it was such a great idea to purchase when I first got hooked with this craft 🙂
I recently purchased a mold with the shape of lime wedges, and it was the perfect time to use 🙂
I ended up adding little tick lines to the side of the mold so that I had a good idea where I would be cutting the bars and a good positioning to use for my little embeds.
I was pretty happy with how my little lime wedges turned out. I used just a hint of green mica and ended up brushing the sides with a little bit of green oxide. I did got a little carried away with my little ice cubes. I added a bit too much of the blue mica and they ended up pretty blue.
The end result 🙂
I am pretty happy with how these turned out. My only gripe is that I continue to be pretty impatient when it comes to unmolding my soap. My soap tends to stick to my silicone mold and I end up tearing the sides and bottom of my soaps. I just may go back to lining with freezer paper once again since it works best with inpatient little bodies like me 🙂
Thanks for checking out my blog!
