It’s Valentine’s Day and to celebrate this day I decided to make a Valentine Theme Soap. I had LoveSpell Fragrance (a dupe fragrance) just waiting for a project like this one.
I knew I wanted to use the red, white and black color scheme. I was debating if I should do a log soap batch or if I should finally try and use my mold as a slab mold with the dividers. I decided on the latter and thought how cool it would be to see if I could do some really nice swirls. When I first started trying to learn how to soap I would pour over the internet looking at all these soaps with these intricate swirls. I just wanted to be able to do the same! They were so fluid and beautiful! I have tried many times, and most times I end up over mixing my soap mix and it ends up being too thick to try any type of fluid swirls.
I went for it this time, even though I worried that it may trace fast for me since I recently added Palm Kernel Flakes into my recipe, which tends to trace your soap a little faster. I think it worked out perfectly. I LOVE MY SWIRLS!
I had this cute heart silicone mold that I recently found at the store and while I originally thought to use it for wax melts I decided to use it with some Melt and Pour Soap heart embeds for this soap.
This is the final result 🙂
I love how they all turned out, but I am not loving the moisture droplets that the Melt and Pour soap is attracting…I am hoping that it would soon stop!
I hope everyone has a great Valentine Day! I plan to spend this day of love with a little bit of soccer practice for the kids and maybe some take out for the evening for the family 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
