We have been having some really warm weather, not enough rain, and very much Spring and early Summer feel. Its making me yearn for sun screen lotion, sandals and sand between my toes. What better way than to take out two fragrances that remind of the beach and sun!
Our first soap is Pikake Flower, which I have to admit it took me a while to get used to. Its a little strong for me, and very floral indeed. I use Bramble Berry’s, and the description reminded me so much of my last trip to Hawaii:
“traditional blossoms used for making Leis in Hawaii…”
I miss Hawaii :).
For this soap I decided to do a spoon swirl. It has been a while since I have done this swirl in soap. When I first started to soap it was the only swirl that I would do, since it was the only one that would come out semi decent!
Somehow my yellow turned out with a bit of green in it. I added my Titanium Dioxide to my lye water this time and somehow I was hoping to come up with a much cream yellow. But it’s still ok to me.
The next one up is Bora Bora. This is a favorite fragrance of mine. It does fade a bit during the soaping process, but does come back a little bit after. Rustic Escentuals describes this fragrance as: “sweet pineapple, acai berry, mango zest, tart passion fruit, yuzu zest, green apple, orchid leaves, and musky nuances”
I really wanted to do some type of warm color soap and ended up with something all together different! I think I used too much pink and teal mica and a tad much Titanium Dioxide! This one comes with a drop swirl
It’s actually very pretty, and reminds me of satin ribbons.
