It has been a wonderful, soaping 2014!
This year you found me venturing out more into my color design, taking the leap of opening my own website and blog, and finally coming out of my shell and venturing into the world of Craft Fairs!
If you continued to follow me through out this year – I thank you! While I have not had as much time to post in my blog like I used to, I will continue to make an effort in 2015. I do want to dabble in a couple of things here and there. Especially with video. I have been forever camera-shy and I am thinking that this new year will be the year to take the leap and try it.
I continue to follow my soapy friends. Mostly through Facebook where I have noticed lately that you find mostly everyone there. The addition of all the new Facebook soaping groups has led to some of the declined in some of the soaping blogs (in my opinion). But you also find more soaping videos which is great for those soapers that still struggle with designs and need some inspiration. For new soapers as well. I can remember 5 years ago looking all over YouTube for videos on how to make soap. There was not much out there, compare to now! I think it’s wonderful! 🙂
This is my 2014!
January found me with my first batch of Bastille Soap and Ale Soap. Once I was able to cure it for the full 6 months, I found the Bastille Soap to have been very gentle! There was not as much bubbles as I am used to, but that can be explained on the high content of Olive Oil.
I also had a pretty close call with raw soap when I made my Berries soap. While tapping down on the mold I had soap splatter in my face! I had to rush and clean it up pretty quick , but definitely goes to show that you should always have goggles when soaping.
April you found me in quite a mess! I transferred my blog from Blogger to my own WordPress Site. What a nightmare and also what an eye opening experience!!! I managed to lock myself out of my website while downloading a bad template, and after quickly searching the WordPress Forums for help I managed to figure out how to break myself back in. I look back on it and laugh, but at the time it was not funny ;(
I finally opened up my new site on April 12. It was pretty exciting and while I did lose a pretty good many followers I would do it all over again. Not only has it been pretty educational for me, I enjoy having the freedom to play around in this new environment. I am still playing around with my design and just recently changed it again to a cleaner look.
In May you found me starting to settle to my new web page and continued to do some soap.
November I got a little more creative and adventurous and made my first Gingerbread House Soap!
December was pretty busy and exciting! I had a great holiday season with my family. Welcome my son’s 7th birthday on Christmas Day and had my first sold out Craft Show!
It has been an awesome year! I look forward to a new 2015 and I hope you continue to visit me every now and then.
In the mean time, may you have a very HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015!
